Book
Binderies
Traditionally
book binderies have high capacity perfect binders with long set
up times and long run capacity. This, therefore, makes binding very
uneconomical in both time and money especially in high demand periods.
It is not economical or sensible to stop long run machines (even
when possible) when a customer needs smaller quantities bound.
The investment
of a Fastbind system compared to the investment of the high capacity
machinery of a specialized book bindery is very small, especially
compared with the benefits of being able to serve customers instantly
and still profitably.
We have also
found that the quality of the Fastbind more often than not supersedes
that of normal production line binding.
Short run and
sample production is often costly with volume equipment. Fastbind
compliments existing equipment and increases profit on this work.
Traditional
book binderies and publishers have shied away from dissertation
and graduate binding, but by utilising unique, pre-made Fastbind
Hard Covers, this market can once again become a popular and profitable
market sector, which many binding houses simply turn away at present.
